Speed time graphs mean that they mainly concentrate on the parameter 'time'. That is the graph is plotting speed along y axis and time along x axis. This speed time graph exactly infers us about the movement of the body in certain amount of time.
We have three types speed-time graph which are:
1. Speed-time graph when speed remains constant, that is speed remains same.
2. Speed-time graph when speed is varying at regular or uniform rate.
3. Speed-time graph when speed is varying at irregular or non uniform rate.
These three graphs are mainly responsible for pictorial representation of moving body within a prescribed time, which gives the speed of the body.
Explanation of Speed Time Graph
Before proceeding to the speed time graph, first let us know what is speed. The definition of speed is the ratio of distance travelled to the time taken to travel hat distance
That is, Speed = Distance travelled/ time taken to travel that distance.
So, Distance travelled = Speed* Time taken
Now let us learn those three types of speed time graphs in detail:
1. When speed remains constant.
we need to calculate the distance travelled by the body at some point say 'C' using graph

2. When speed is varying at uniform rate.
When body moves for certain distance, speed changes uniformly at regular intervals of time. And keep in mind that when initial speed of the body is zero.
Speed time graph when speed varies at uniform rate
3. When speed varies at non uniform rate
When the speed of the body changes in irregular manner the speed time graph of the body is a curved line.

Difference between Two Graphs
Let us spot difference between two graphs which are following:
Comparision of two graphs
We can distinguish these two graphs by labeling their axes.
There are three graphs which makes us clear about the characteristics of speed time graph
