? If you're using a dial up connection to access the Internet, following these 10 simple tips will ensure that web content is delivered as fast as possible to your Internet browser.

1. Make sure you are using a 56K modem - Use the Windows Device Manager to check the dial up modem's properties. Go to the modem manufacturer's website and verify you're using the current firmware for your model.

2. Check your phone line connection - Make sure the cable and connections between your PC's modem and the phone jack are secure and in good shape.

10. Use a download scheduler - Use one of the freely available download schedulers to manage, and resume if necessary, files you wish to download from the Internet.
