Human brain is like a machine which works properly when it is suitably maintained and nourished
. Unlike any other machine, the memory of human brain cannot be increased by any mechanical ways. Now any one can ask how to improve our memory? There are certain methods to enhance the recollecting power of our brain.
Ways to improve our memory
1. Attentiveness: A person has to be attentive in order to remember something. If the concentration is missing, then it would be hard to remember whatever he/she has heard or seen.
2. Relating to a known fact: If a person acquires a new information, then the easiest way to remember it is to relate it to any older fact. For example if anyones insurance number is PT11502, then it can be hard to memorize it instantly, but if that persons wifes mobile number ends with 20511, then it would be easy for him to remember the insurance number. Whenever he would try to remember the insurance number, he would relate it to his wifes mobile number.
3. Repeated rehearsal at small intervals: Its ideal to rehearse a new information at short intervals so that a person can remember it in the long run. The repeated remembrance of the fact or number or word or information would make the brain exercise more efficiently and as a result, the person would be able to remember it in future.
These three small steps would answer to the question of How to improve memory.
Like any machine can have a problem at any time, our brain can also fail to remember a fact which we may have heard a while back. This is known as short term memory loss or amnesia. This short term memory loss mainly happens due to ageing.
The memory improvement can be done in a number of ways
1. Proper Sleep: Lack of good sleep and overload can result in memory loss. So a good sleep is a must to retain the memorizing capacity of the brain in the long run.
2. Consumption of fish oil vitamins: Vitamins derived from fish oil (omega 3) are good healers of memory loss. Adequate consumption of fish oil vitamins can help in memory improvement.
3. Playing games: By involving oneself into playing games like puzzle, sudoku, jumbles can increase the brain power to memorize things. These games are a good exercise for the proper functioning of the brain.
4. Exercises and good food habit: Doing yoga or simple exercises regularly within the busy schedule and having proper balanced food throughout the day can prevent memory loss.
So just follow these and have a new improved memory.
