Spiritual Growth with The Tarot - 10, THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE

On The Wheel of Fortune we see a copper circle, perhaps a shield; containing two lesser circles within. Between the two outer circles, clock-wise from the top, we see the letters T. A. R. O. Coming back to the top we find another "T", this spells TAROT. Between those letters are the Hebrew letters for the Tetragrammaton, IHVH.
Within the second circle, radiating outward are the wheel's eight spokes; half of them bearing magical symbols at the end. These eight spokes represent Universal radiant energy.
At the corners of the card we see four pictures, symbolizing the four ancient elements, Fire, Water, Air and Earth.
A blue sphinx sits atop the Wheel, holding a sword over her shoulder. She is equilibration, the maintaining of universal balance. From her position on the Wheel one senses wisdom.
To the left of the Wheel we see a yellow serpent, crawling downwards, symbolizing Typhon, one of ancient Egypt's gods of evil.
On the Wheel's right is a picture of a being with the body of a man and a jackal's head. This is a symbolic picture of Hermes-Anubus, an ancient Egyptian god, who, here, represents man's ever evolving intelligence.
The Wheel of Fortune symbolizes one of the most important of spiritual Laws, the Law of Cycles. The reason this Law is so important is, although we may have many trials in life, they run in cycles and they're always followed by a respite. This is part of our learning experience on this physical plane; we are given "tests" so we will learn necessary lessons. When we have learned our necessary lessons, we get a rest period, until there's another lesson, and another "test".
We need to remember this so we don't get too bogged-down in this illusionary reality, this physical world. Really, we are spiritual beings. We use these bodies to learn material things, things we can only learn here. But, when we can always remember that we are Soul, we won't ever be beaten by this world.
What goes around, comes around. Our Wheel of Fortune keeps on turning, week upon week and year after year. No matter how difficult our tests are, the Wheel eventually brings us back to the good days.
Throughout my rather interesting life, I've had a lot of lessons to learn. Many problems have come to pass. They came into my experience and, they served their purpose, then they passed! And, Usually the tough times led to something better than I had before.
When meditating on The Wheel of Fortune, remember that, whatever you are facing right now, this too shall pass.
