(Dutch) That word is exusia. If you don't understand the difference... In fact, there's nowhere in scripture and when I say this in meetings, people look at me like Im a heretic, but there's no place in scripture that ever says we've been delivered from Satans power. Power wasn't the issue at the cross. And I say this: Satan didn't get power at the fall and he didn't lose power at the cross. What he got was authority. He got the authority that god had given to Adam to be god's representative on the earth. He didn't get any new power. He just got the right to use that power against the human race. And at the cross Jesus didn't deal with Satans power. He's going to one day. He's going to bind him up, throw him in the lake and we won't deal with Satans power anymore, but Jesus didn't strip him of power. People talk about the lion is now toothless. No, he's not. That's why we still need an armor; that's why he's still stealing, killing, and destroying.

(Dutch) exactly. Because he still has all the inherent power and ability that he's ever had. What Jesus took back from him was the authority...

(Joyce) and gave it to us!

(Dutch) ...that Adam lost and gave it back to us "adamites" if you will, so that we can now deal with Satans power. Even when Colossians 1:13 says he delivered us from the power -- that's the king James translation -- of darkness, really it's exusia again. He delivered us from the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of his son.

(Dutch) they don't understand it. They're just so ignorant and they don't use it. The lord told me once on a missionary trip I went on, he said something to me and he said it in a way to get my attention because I thought it was heresy; I thought it was a demon talking to me. He said, "on this trip I want you to be as Jesus to the people." and I said: I rebuke that! I'm not going to try to be... Then the Holy Spirit began to explain it to me and he said, "I want you to do what he would do, say what he would say, and act the way he would act because -- and this is the real issue of authority -- because you are there to represent him, not yourself." People ask me: how do i gain more authority? You learn how to represent him more, you get his heart, and you understand his ways. I don't care if you're talking about government or if you're talking about a business, authority is based on the ability to represent someone else.
