Springtime in Spain is a season of celebrations and festivities. The beauty of the country gets adorned during time and experience that one can have during their stay in Spain at this time is beyond expectations of a vacationer. Mallorca and Seville are special attractions for springtime travel, for those who love nature and find beauty and happiness and flowering and blooming of trees. Other parts of Spain are also filled with vitality and celebration. During the springtime, a lot of secular and religious festivals takes place throughout Spain and walkers can take delight in trails along with watching nature with the color displays.

The Valle del Jerte or Jerte Valley in Extremadura is a special attraction for nature lovers. During the springtime, cherry trees can be seen in full bloom creating a spectacle that covers the landscape for miles. You can visit Galicia and see the camellia festival. During the festival, gardens like Castle of Soutomaior are opened for display of blooming camellias, magnolias, chestnut trees and linden trees.

Las Fallas is yet another festival that takes place in Valenci. Locals indulge in casting off the winter by building and then burning giant cardboard statues by setting off the fireworks. The celebrations end by an offering of 50-foot Flower Mountain to the Virgin Mary.

You can also hop to Sierra de las Nieves. Towards the narcissus-carpeted upper slopes you can find pink saxifrages that bloom alongside the walking trails. In western Andaluca, the Sierra de Grazalema Mountains become a breathtaking site. In the Spanish fir forests you will be able to see around six different varieties of narcissus, 30 species of orchids and seven different irises covering the whole ground.

Easter Sunday and Monday are special during spring season. People get together to eat special cakes and chocolate buns. Fiesta del Bollu is a Cake Festivalthat is held in Avils, in Asturias. Towards the northwest of Seville in Sierra de Aracena, you can sight the riot of colors. Between the meadows of Valdelarco and Galaroza, you will be able to see spring wildflowers carpet. It is a marvelous walking route.

The Sierra Nevada, is well-known for an unsurpassed display of above 2000 species of plants, out of 30% are of floral variety. Las Alpujarras area of Spain is also quite colorful from the month of April to June. If you go higher in Sierra Nevada Mountains, you will be able to see alpine plants in full bloom during the months May-July.
