Sql-rd: Windows' New Tool

An application for Windows, SQL-RD saves time and money by allowing to schedule and

manage MS SQL reports on numerous servers from a single application. SQL-RD also exports RS reports to multiple printers, FTP, Secure FTP, email, folders, FAX and SMS. It uses standard frequencies like daily, weekly, monthly. Users may also set up their own custom calendars and exception calendars with SQL-RD. This is not all; dynamic schedules featured in SQL-RD are used for linking and automating reports, data and destinations.

Some of the key features of SQL-RD are:

Single Report Schedules: This feature is set to generate a single report at specified intervals (hourly, daily, or weekly). The file can be sent to one or more destinations (email, FTP printer, etc,) in a specified format (PDF, XML or Excel). An example of single report schedules is: Email the daily work report to the manager at 6:30 pm except on public holidays.

Package Report Schedules: This feature is used to generate a set of reports at defined intervals. These reports are intended to be delivered to one or more destinations together. For example, a monthly report pack (consisting of a number of reports) can be sent to a client with all reports attached to the single email.

Automation Schedules: This feature is used to write and execute simple or complex business process automation scripts or macros. It can be used on its own, or as a part of a more complete automation solution. Some of the examples of automation schedule include, send an email, upload to FTP, update a file, print files and many more.

Dynamic Schedules: With this feature, multiple instances of the same report are exported. For each instance SQL-RD automatically enters the required parameter values, exports the report and delivers the results to the intended destination. SQL-RD reads the parameters and destinations from your own database.

Dynamic Package Schedules: This feature generates and delivers individualized export packages for multiple recipients using the same set of reports.

Event-Based Schedules: This feature is used to instantly respond to business and client needs. It generates reports or automation scripts when a defined system event occurs. For example, trigger a report or automation script when a value in a database has been changed, or when a new email arrives.

Event-Based Packages: With this feature, a number of event-based schedules are bind together as a batch to run in a specified order and scheduled time. For example, run the report once a month, but only if the monthly total figure in the sales database matches to that in the invoices database.
