Dinosaurs are another thing that the city is famous for. A couple decades ago a farmer in the city discovered strange prints on some rocks in a dried up rock bed on his property. Since then it has been discovered that these prints belong to dinosaurs that used to roam the land.
The land the dinosaur prints were found on now belongs to the city. Anyone can go and view the ancient imprints. They have since turned the land into a museum, which is called the St. George Discovery Site.
Although red rock is a common feature, there are the Pine Valley Mountains to the north which provide visitors a different type of scenery. In the Pine Valley Mountains you can camp, hike, fish, and even hunt through the wooded and green hills.
Another feature of St. George is the marathon that is held there every year. If you are an avid runner you will not want to miss out on running this beautiful stretch of ground.
This city has the amenities that you need to live your life. Many buildings have recently been updated and made to accommodate the growing population.
It is home to a great hospital and a small air port. In 2003, Intermountain Health Care opened a brand new $100 million hospital with new facilities. Having a hospital nearby makes getting medical attention much easier.
SkyWest Airlines maintains its headquarters in town with operations flying out all of the time. The air port makes it easy to get in and out of the area.
Currently, real estate is more affordable in St. George due to national economic down turn. Now is the time to buy; prices are on the rise and you don't want to miss out.
