Starcraft 2 Protoss Standard Build Order - Early Game Protoss Strategy

The Protoss in StarCraft 2 are a very dynamic race and can start off the game in many different ways

. As a Protoss player, you'll want to have a good build order memorized so you can execute it well and get off to a good start and give yourself the best possible chance of winning. Use this standard build order to set up a nice economy and still have the ability to defend yourself and even make early pushes.

As you first start out the game, train a new Probe and send your workers to mine. Once your supply hits 9/10 build a Pylon near your Nexus. Keep making Probes, and when you get to 12/18 population warp in a Gateway. Remember your Probes don't have to actively work on your buildings, they just warp them in and walk away.

At 15/18 build an Assimilator so you can start getting some Gas, and send 3 Probes to mine out of it right when it finishes. Warp in another Pylon after building one more worker when your supply is at 16/18. By the time you hit 17/26 population, you should have enough resources to lay down a Cybernetics Core. Do so and get a Stalker out for defense right when it finishes.

Build your second Assimilator at 18/26 and get 3 workers mining Gas out of it as soon as you can. Then warp in another Gateway and research Warp Gate Technology. From here you need to keep building Pylons to warp in more units, and you can take the build anywhere you want. Go for a 3 Warp Gate, 1 Robotics Facility push, or put up 2 more Gateways to do a 4 Warp Gate push.

Your build order may change slightly depending on what your opponent does. If you get rushed you will have to get a Zealot out earlier so it may slow down your build. From this point on it's hard to write a guide since every game is different. Be sure that you keep making Probes, army units, and expand before you're out of minerals.
