Start-ups are units having resources that don't really match the traditional ideas of what a business firm should have to hire a call center
. They don't have much of financial cushion to fund telemarketing campaigns, they don't have a brand value that can get them easy lead generation access and neither do they have a customer base that is wide enough to demand
answering service facilities. The question we are faced with is, why do start-ups need call centers in the first place. There are some reasons why a BPO firm could be exactly what the start-ups needed. I have outlined them here against the call center services that help them reach the next level.
Let's begin with telemarketing campaigns. Start-ups need the muscle power of a call center to function as a full-on marketing firm. Call centers help the start-up to reach out their voice to the consumers that are either using rival products/services or don't feel the need to purchase anything like that. It's the work of the telemarketing services department to create that demand in the consumers. BPO agents have excellent marketing skills that do well with the people who feel that they are not sure of what they want. Persuasive skills are a hallmark of the outbound call center agent. They explain the features of the product/service in a way that sells them. The revenue that this process generates for the start-up is the first pedal for them to move up the ladder.
The next step has to be the lead generation department. Start-ups need subscribers and users. They need more people on board. They need to expand their consumer database. That is where sales lead generation comes in. The call center agents call up numbers from the database which they have or that which the client provides. The idea is to tap the market and generate leads of prospective consumers. Leads are the building blocks of a business. Quality leads have a greater chance of converting into sales than random, inauthentic ones. BPO firms have a way of generating these leads and passing them to the in-house sales team of the start-up. This saves the wastage of resources by the in-house sales team that may not have the required skill set and expertise.
Answering service is something that every start-up needs. The reason is that lead generation is necessary to build up the consumer base and phone answering is needed to keep that base intact. You can never have a wide consumer network if the ones building up your block don't stick to you. The inbound call center desk seals up the path of erosion of consumers. Customers are made to feel special and their needs are tended to. The basic idea is to make the customers feel good about being associated with the start-up. The brand image of a start-up is in the nascent stages. The call center services must try to boost that up and build a strong brand identity. Modern marketing gurus have taught us that brand recall is probably a sure-fire way to sell. BPO service does that.
