Status Updates For Courier Customers

When a courier company ships goods for their customers

, they will do everything they can to make sure that the delivery arrives on time. Most of the time, this will not be a problem and the delivery will be completed successfully. However, the clients of a Houston courier company can't help themselves from worrying, and the reassurance of constant status updates makes most companies feel better about entrusting their valuable goods into the hands of a courier company.

Courier companies provide two main types of status updates to their customers. The first forms of updates that they provide are the automated updates, which are created by their software system. This information is loaded into their status checking system which customers can access via their tracking number online. This allows customers to log into the website and find out where their package is, and if it is has been delivered or delayed in any way.

There are also ways that courier companies contact customers directly in order to make sure that they're always up to date on the status of their shipments. These types of updates might come via email or through a telephone call, and can be grouped into two primary categories. These are a notification of a delay, and verification of a delivery.

Most courier companies make a great effort to notify their customers if something serious happens which is going to delay their shipments. They will usually call the customer and let them know why the shipment is being delayed, and when they expect it to be completed. This is something that they will only do in very serious delays. Smaller delays will instead be reported through the online status system.

The other primary type of status update comes when a courier company has successfully delivered a package for a client. After a delivery has been completed, the courier company will provide the client with something known as a proof of delivery. This is the documentation which says that someone has accepted the delivery after it was brought to their location. In the past, these forms would be faxed or mailed to the company, but now, they are most often emailed. There are devices which couriers carry with them that can electronically capture the signature of the delivery recipient. Then, they can incorporate that signature into the delivery notification which they will email to the client immediately after the delivery is completed.
