Stay Fit while Pregnant
Pregnancy without pounds may sound impossible
, it's not. In the 21st century there have been many dieting and exercise fads that have come and gone. More and more women are focusing on the importance of staying fit while they are pregnant. Is it possible to control weight during pregnancy? The answer is yes.
For starters, how much weight should be gained during pregnancy? The real answer to this is, it's a decision the doctor and you should make. Typically, the average weight to be gained is between 25-30 pounds. Many women will gain more and some will gain much less. Ultimately, there will be weight gain.
It's important to understand that the growing baby will "take" exactly what it needs from their mother. It's very important to eat well balanced smaller portioned meals. Taking prenatal vitamins are essential. What about those pregnancy cravings? Sometimes, these cravings may indicate your body's desire for a nutrient that it isn't getting normally. In this case, as long as it is, indeed a food item, satisfy that craving sparingly. Not all cravings should be satisfied. Some cravings can cause a lot of extra calories that the body does not need. Shouldn't I be eating for two? This is probably one of THE biggest misconceptions for expectant mothers. Once again, the baby, while in the womb, is going to get the nutrients essential for it's proper growth regardless of how much or little is eaten. The rule here, do not order two of everything on the menu. The mom and baby are a package deal.
Exercising through pregnancy is as important as the eating right. There is a multitude of information on this great thing we call the internet. Rather than getting "lost" in this sea of information, it's better to hone in on a couple of great resources. One great resource is http://www.squidoo.com/childbirthexperience This is a great place to start. There's a variety of pregnancy related information that covers real pregnancy issues such as this one.
The most important thing you can do while being pregnant is exercising, eating right, and taking care of yourself.
