Staying Fit This Winter - Exercises
It is common for us to feel like hiding under our blankets in the winters
. However, if you wish to get rid of health problems and extra adipose layer that you might gain in winters, it is necessary to stop blaming the cold weather outside as an excuse for being lazy bones. So pull up your socks and get ready for the exercises to keep you fit in the winters. However, you should also take utmost care while doing so. Here is the list of things you should do:
*If you plan to go for jogging or a walk, cover your body with multiple layers of clothes. This helps in better insulation of the body. Covering your head is equally important as you lose heat very soon through your head.
*If you plan to go for exercise outdoors, choose a good time for it. Exercise during the daylight is good in winters. Do not go for exercise outdoors when it is dark. If the wind is blowing, even if it is sunny, exercising outdoors is not a good idea.
*If it is difficult to exercise outdoors, you may resort to indoor exercises. You can join a gym or exercise at home. Going up and down the stairs is also a good exercise. Else you can pick up your shopping bag and try taking a walk in a mall.
*Do not go for intense exercising just for the sake of sweating. It is not necessary that you need to sweat every time you are exercising. The temperature might be so low that sweat will not come. Intense exercise will lead to increase in heartbeat which is bad hence keep a watch on your heartbeat as well.
*Have a lot of water during and after exercise, even if you do not feel like. In winters, body does not give indications that it needs water. Water intake helps in keeping your fresh and helps in digestion of food.
*Once you are done with your exercises, do not remove your clothes immediately if you feel the body heat. Removing the clothes may lead to post-exercise Hypothermia. Hence sit down and sip a glass of water after five to seven minutes. Once you do that, you won't feel like removing the clothes again.
Exercise will help you in keeping fit physically and mentally as it helps in releasing stress and fighting winter blues. Try exercising with a friend and the benefits of exercising will increase multiple folds.
