Staying Fit While Consuming Alcohol - Seven Amazing Tips!
If You Want to Lose Weight, You Probably Shouldn't Drink!
It's definitely possible to get away with it, but it's probably not a good idea to drink alcohol if you are trying to burn a lot of fat. Drinking can really undermine weight loss routines more than other types of fitness routines. Drinking doesn't help your fat loss or improve your nutrition. If you need to burn fat and simply must drink, try diligently tracking and limiting your other calories.
To Maintain Weight Try a Little Moderation!
If you are happy with your weight and want to keep it that way for the rest of your life try drinking in moderation. If you drink only occasionally and drink only a few drinks on those few occasions then you will greatly limit your calorie intake from alcohol. Try saving the booze for restaurants and weekend recreation. Binge drinking and repeated drunkenness will be the scourge of your fitness routines. And beware those pesky hangovers. Morning nausea and dehydration won't help your workouts.
Don't Start a Drinking Routine!
Moderate your drinking by not drinking daily. Though the occasional beverage might be heart healthy, it won't benefit your waistline or your workout routine. The calories from habitual drinking can really start to add up so try to eliminate your after work drink or dinner drink from your week.
Keep Track of The Calories!
When you do decide to drink, take note of how many calories you're ingesting. A light beer may only back a little over a hundred, but mixed drinks can be real gut busters. Keep a notepad on you and write down the calorie content every time you have a drink.
Eat!
Eat early in the day so that the "drunk munchies" don't take hold of you late at night. One of the reasons that weight gain has a closer correlation to drinking in men than women is that men tend to drink and eat simultaneously (think drunk nachos and chicken wings). Women often drink instead of eating. The munchies can really add extra calories to your night of drinking.
Exclude Fatty Foods!
Drinking can make those extra fatty foods that you normally avoid sound extra appealing. Alcohol is known to limit peoples' inhibitions and this is probably part of the problem. If you are going to drink try a low-fat diet.
Drop the Guilt!
If you are going to drink responsibly then it should be something to enjoy. Don't let the guilt suck the fun out of life!
