Steps For Refilling A Lighter

Smoking a cigar is one of the finest luxuries anyone can experience

. The idea of sitting back and relaxing in front of a camp fire, Cognac in one hand and a well crafted cigar in the other, is an experience that almost any adult would enjoy. Given this fact, there are a wide range of cigars that are available which can cater to an individual's specific taste. These cigars can range in flavor from extremely bold to extremely mild depending on the type of tobacco that is used to make up the cigar.

Refilling a lighter can be dangerous if you do not do it the proper way. The first thing you need to do in the refill process is allow your lighter a few minutes to cool off. More than likely you have discovered that the lighter is empty during use. If you attempt to refill the fuel immediately after use it, you could burn yourself. Give the lighter around 5 to 10 minutes to cool down.

Take a small screwdriver from your toolbox and use it to adjust the height of the flame on your lighter. You want to set the height to the smallest possible setting. You will turn the adjusting screw to the right to tighten up the gas valve to make sure that a minimial amount of fuel gets through. For the next step in the process, make sure to hold the lighter a safe distance away from clothing and from your face and head.

When you refill a lighter, you always do it with the lighter facing upside down. This prevents air from being forced into the gas reservoir on the lighter. Turn your lighter upside down and take out your can of butane. Shake the can of butane a few times and then push it firmly into the loading port. Generally, you only have to hold it on the loading port from anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds to fill up the lighter. If you have a clear reservoir, turn it over and see how much fuel has been inserted into the lighter. If you need more, repeat the process.

Flip the lighter upside down and then press the stem located on the refill can of fuel into the valve on the lighter. Leave the stem in the valve for around five seconds and then remove it. Once this is completed you will need to let your lighter sit for five minutes while the fuel reaches room temperature. Once it has reached room temperature, you can readjust the flame to your preference.
