Steps To Getting Your Washer Repaired

You are in dire need to do some laundry after noticing the hamper is packed and stacked with the family's dirty clothes and notice the washer is leaking. How are you going to get your washer repaired? Remember, when doing any type of washer repair to unplug the machine from the electrical power source.

First empty out the washer and move it away from the wall being careful not to scratch the floor and if the hoses are still connected, move it out only so far, to prevent from yanking out the hoses from the wall or drain hole. Inspect the water supply hose to see if there are any tears or bulges, run the fill cycle, and as it is filling up with water check the hose in the back of the washer for any leaks.

Next inspect the drain hose for any leakage and check to see if there is anything that is clogging the drain hose. If the hose appears to be a little worn or if they are a few years old, it is best to replace them now to prevent any further leaks in the future. It is also a good idea to disconnect the hoses to inspect the internal washers. If the leak is occurring from the hose or internal washers, replace them immediately. It is important to remember to turn off the water supply and unplug the washer before disconnecting the hoses.

If the hoses and internal washers aren't leaking and look fine, remove the access panel to the internal parts of the washer, usually this can be found at the rear of the machine but, check your manual as to where the access panel is located. Using a flashlight, check for any pools of water or calcium deposits. With the access panel opened, run the fill cycle again to see if you can discover any leaks occurring within the internal mechanisms. If you should discover a leak, stop the washer by lifting the lid and pull out the control dial.

Before doing any washer repairs on your own check your manual or contact your fully trained Kitchenaid Repair Technician within the Orange County, California area.
