Once you press the sticky key, it will make the computer remember that when Ctrl was clicked Alt was also pressed simultaneously. And hence it will do the same for the next time. 1. Get to the start button and then to the control panel. Make your control panel open in "Classic view" as this will help you to see all the icons.

2. Click on the option called "ease of access" and navigate to Ease of Access Center.

4. Locate the option "Turn on Sticky keys" under "Make it easier to type". If your sticky keys are "on" make sure to put it off by unmarking the box in front of it. Save the changed setting and hence click on "Apply" to make the change in effect and then click on "Save".

1. Make sure whether the sticky keys are on. Hit the Sticky keys and if it is on then you will hear a small beep coming from the system. Now you need to disable the sticky keys temporarily.

2. Press down the shift keys for some time to stop the sticky keys from working and each time you press the key you will hear a beep. After five continuous beeps the sticky key will get disabled.

However, in-order to reactivate the Shift Sticky Keys, press the key for five times. You will come across a dialogue box that will pop up. Click "OK" to activate the keys or "cancel to stop the keys.
