The majority of steroid abusers are likely to be young male athletes who participate in sports such as body building, baseball, football, weight lifting, swimming, running and others. No longer is the use of steroids effects limited to body builders or football players. Bulking up and performance enhancing are not worth a life.

The aggressiveness and recklessness that characterizes 'roid rage' often lead to dangerous behaviors that can have drastic results. After these manic-like periods, the athlete experiences profound depression that can lead to suicidal thoughts. These steroids effects often end badly for the victim and their loved ones. The mania plus the physical risks for heart attack and stroke pose a deadly combination. Steroids are also addictive for those who take them, meaning that sometimes long after athletic careers or stints are over, the user is still battling the steroids effects and unable to avoid the desire to keep using.
