Sometimes, when you're driving through your hometown or any other suburban area

, you'll spot floral shops, flower markets, or independent gift and flower stores where you can find a full range of bouquets, flowers, balloon arrangements, or other special arrangements involving various stuffed animals. These shops have to set up a program where they receive their floral supplies in weekly, biweekly, or on an as needed basis.

There are a lot of different products that floral supplies businesses ship on a regular basis to these shop owners. Some of the most common items are: the actual flowers, the flower containers, floral wire, foam inserts, vases, and sometimes they even ship the stuffed animals and balloons. This is also how many of those shops get their silk plants, arrangements, and bouquets.

All these floral supplies are extremely important if you've got a wedding or other large event coming up. It's always a good idea to head to the local florist early on to make sure everything is taken care of on time. There are many holidays like Mother's Day, Easter, and Valentine's Day that are also big flower-buying seasons, and you should plan in advance for them, too.

Some other popular occasions for flower-giving are events like homecoming dances and the prom. Many flower shops have to order their floral supplies in advance for these events, and will work closely with the schools or clubs that sell homecoming mums so they can have the glittery ribbons for the arrangements under the mums so they'll be ready for the dance.

Prom corsages and boutonnieres are often widely ordered in advance to ship prior to prom season. Flower shops that must make the mums themselves from ordered floral supplies often can do very well in a good economy.

Other times that you might need floral arrangements are for birthdays, or get well visits to loved ones who are sick or in the hospital. New babies often get a special welcome bouquet for the mom from family and friends. Many floral shops order floral supplies like special baby booties, or vases that feature baby colors or baby room things like a stork or baby blocks.

Flower shops can also do a good service for their communities by providing floral supplies that are made especially for more somber occasions. They can make special floral arrangements for funeral wreaths, flower sprays, or other items for the bereaved family at funerals or viewings.

It may surprise you how often the local floral shop is called on to meet the needs of the community. There are shops, both small and large, all over the place, and many of them work very hard to be a good service to the community.
