-Horses that crib bite or wind suck. These horses often do not eat well and so have little gastric contents to neutralize stomach acid.
-The utilization of some NSAIDs, particularly Bute.
Thus how to reduce the probabilities of a horse getting stomach ulcers?
-Grazing good grass can improve the health of the horse.
Give the horse some lucerne hay approximately half an hour before work, this neutralizes the abdomen acidity.
-Veterinary medications contain Omeprazole or Ranitidine from your veterinary doctor can be helpful in treatment and control of stomach ulcers.
-Some dietary supplements, like Kohnkes Own Gastro-coat could help coat the stomach and reduce the chance of stomach ulcers development.
