Stop Dreaming And Start Shopping

As malls get bigger and bigger and I get older and older my feet can take less of it and my patience gets sorely tried.

I do enjoy living in today's world. The variety and scope of what is available in all areas of one's life is almost limitless. There is always something just around the corner that I can't live without and wonder how I managed to get to this age before discovering it.

Shopping has always been a passion of mine. I am interested and often amused at the incredible variety of ways with which people tempt me to buy all those things that I really have no need for but at the moment cannot exist without.

In the malls nowadays there really is everything including the most expensive luxury items like all those fancy labels which tempt you to pay large four figure numbers for things like pocketbooks, scarves, suitcases and on and on. I am still cross that the airlines have no respect for my very expensive suitcases but will take great care of those backpacks and golfbags.

So, to the point of this diatribe. I have found that I can truly indulge my shopping addiction online. Anything and everything I might ever think of having, wanting, needing, not living without etc can be viewed, compared and desired while sitting down. Online shopping not only lets me indulge whatever mood strikes me at any particular shopping moment, but also doesn't clutter me with being tempted by things I could survive without for at least one more day.

Of course another great thing about shopping online is that what you buy is delivered to your door. This way I can buy a lot more in one sitting (session) than I could if I were back at the mall because I don't have to carry it. There is nothing like having everything delivered.

Now I even do my mundane grocery shopping online. I can't begin to tell you what a joy it is to travel up and down the aisles while sitting down with a cup of tea beside the computer and later that day going to the door to open it and let the person there bring in my groceries and deposit them in the kitchen. I am looking for a supermarket where the delivery person will also put the groceries away for me. Maybe even I will be able to find one who will send a chef with the order to prepare dinner so I can continue shopping at my desk.

It is very tempting to rattle on and on about all the joys I have found shopping on the internet. But, I think you have the picture of how well-rounded and focused it makes me and what a good substitute it is for going for that walk or going to the gym. I can order all that equipment which will keep me fit while sitting here. I just hope I can find a place to put it where I won't be tempted to use it.
