It is also important that health care workers, people who care for others need to be vaccinated. Children under 6 months are high risk of serious flu illness, but are too young to be vaccinated. People who care for them should be vaccinated instead.

Second important step is to take preventive actions to stop the spread of germs.

Cover your cough. It is important to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and throw away the tissue to garbage bins.

Wash your hand with liquid soap and water. If water and soap are not available, use hand sanitizer instead.

Avoid touching your nose and mouth

Avoid contact with sick people. If you get sick, stay home for at least 24 hours.

Take flue antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them. Antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and shorter. It will also help to prevent serious flu complications too.

Symptoms of flu

Look for the following symptoms. It includes: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may also have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, and have respiratory symptoms without a fever.
