Exposure therapy and cognitive behavior therapy are two of the most effective and popular approaches. By allowing the person to see their attitude in perspective, he learns first hand that there is nothing o be feared about the situation or condition, and then he learns to fore-go his rituals and obsessions. It usually takes a longer time to diminish the habits but it is also through learned behavior that obsessive compulsive anxiety disorder can be successfully treated.. Prescription drugs may have little effect to cure this type of anxiety, although it could provide temporary relief for some of the symptoms of anxiety in general.
