4. When the dog has calmed down, talk to him or her gently and stroke the puppy calmly. You should keep your hand away from around the puppy mouth. Tummy tickles are a nice way of connecting with your dog whilst remaining as far away from his or her mouth as you possibly can!

5. Have in mind that consistency is the key. Every time your dog bites, say "NO! NO!!" in a strong, harsh voice. Then just walk away and ignore him or her. It's a bit of Pavlovian response; if your puppy equates biting with the end of play time, he won't bite.

6. Learn to always praise your puppy of his or her good behavior with lots and lots of gentle love and care may be with a few tasty treats inclusive!
