Storage Jars - Useful In Every Home
Organizing your kitchen or bathroom could be a nightmare
. There are so many different things that you must keep easily accessible, but how can you do this without a cluttered appearance? Storage jars are great solutions to help contain your clutter, as are plastic bins, woven baskets and even decorative boxes. Keeping your items enclosed will make life less stressful. As the human eyes takes within the appearance of disorder, the brain reacts by thinking "mess" and the equivalent of "mess" is always "stress". There is not a need to feel this way. Take half a day to reorganize just one room and it will make life much easier. When you have a place for everything, you are able to pickup much quicker. One half day of work can save you hundreds of hours within the long term.
In the kitchen, start the process by first removing everything from one cupboard. Wipe down your shelves and then put the large items back in, positioning them where it makes the most sense. If it's an item that gets used once a year, either set it within the back, or find another place to keep it, such as a closet, or basement-shelving unit. If it is the crock-pot that you use once a week, you'll want it within the front so you do not have to rearrange to get to it. Now that the large items are back in place, you'll want to grab your storage jars and other bins. Use these to hold detachable cords, accessories to small appliances, small lids and other items which are easily displaced in the dark cabinet.
Next, move on to the food cupboards. Large storage jars are great for holding dry pasta, powdered pancake mix, grains, dried beans and cereals. You can use the plastic bins to hold canned goods. Group all of the cans of vegetables into one bin, repeat with canned fruits, meats and sauces. When you need a can of something, you might simply slide the bin out of the cupboard instead of digging through a pile of shelved goods to find what you're searching for. Woven baskets are great for holding individual snack packs. When you bring home the groceries, take the individual packs out of the boxes right away and place a variety into a basket. This is great for children who need a quick snack on the way out of the door for practice.
The bathroom houses many small toiletries. If they are just lying all over the place, it is impossible to find what you would like, much less to clean the counter! Use a basket on the counter top to hold a single bottle of lotion, a box of tissue and a bottle of room deodorizer or body spray. Put storage jars in the cabinet to help contain cotton swabs, hair accessories, disposable razors, and topical ointments. Place plastic bins in the drawers to hold nail polish, make up, medications or facial creams.
Making your life less hectic starts with good organizational skills. It may take a little time to get it right, but the time saved over the following years will be well worth it. Storage jars, bins and baskets are your friends when it comes to putting your life in order. Take it a step further by picking up a personalized labeler to remind you where everything belongs. Enjoy a less cluttered life!
