Journey To the Center Of The World
While most Hawaiian vacations focus on sun, sand and surf, a concierge specialist at One Concierge received a request from a British couple for a rather unusual holiday spot. Vacationing on Hawaii's Big Island, the two avid explorers decided they wanted to explore the inside of an active volcano., just to "see what it looks like." A little startled at first, we explained the to them the destructive properties of hot lava and advised against wandering inside the volcano itself. Rather than venturing into the volcano, the couple was given an alternative to explore the active volcano from the outside. In 3 days, the couple was transported to the foot of the volcano by a private SUV, outfitted with protective reflective clothing, high-efficiency dust masks and of course their own camera crew to document the whole experience.
A Grand Wedding
Planning the 'Big Day' is very seldom an easy task, especially when your wedding ceremony is in the Grand Canyon. A couple from Arizona, contacted One Concierge to help them plan their dream wedding overlooking the Grand Canyon. The request of course would not be complete without an Elvis impersonator to conduct the ceremony, 10 stretch Hummer H2s to transport the guests from the Las-Vegas strip to the Grand Canyon and back, and a helicopter to carry the happy couple away after the ceremony. Needless to say, the request was performed and went off without a hitch, and we even got a thank you note!
I Miss My Cat
A concierge specialist at One Concierge booked what he believed to be a regular private jet flight from New York to Dubai. The aircraft was to stop in London for 2 nights and then continue on to Dubai the following morning. Upon landing in the U.K, a frantic client called our office to explain that his daughter needed her cat, the very same cat that was in their home in the Hamptons more than 3,500 miles away! Nevertheless, a pet courier was dispatched to their home that same day, they picked up the cat, boarded a regular scheduled flight to London and delivered the pet to the client at their London based hotel before the jet was to depart. The cat itself was cared for during the whole ordeal and received premium cat food, and private transport to and from the airport.
Fresh Seafood
A regular traveler with One Concierge, this particular client called us from his vacation resort in Thailand to request 4 pounds of fresh Alaskan salmon and caviar for him and his guests. The group was having a dinner party in a few days and required fresh salmon steaks and caviar as the highlight of the meal. As could be expected, the client only wanted the seafood direct from Alaska. Another test of One Concierge's services, our specialists contacted a local supplier in Alaska, had them package the steaks and caviar (along with a certificate of authenticity, showing the fish had been caught wild in Alaska) in dry ice. The whole package was then sent direct to the client's suite in Thailand overnight. We can guarantee that was most likely the freshest Alaskan salmon on the entire island that day!
Kung-Fu Training
A recent guest traveling through One Concierge's travel program was enjoying a visit to China and apparently was absorbing much of the local culture. Upon returning back to the UK, he contacted One Concierge to request a one-on-one week long training program with a Kung-Fu master direct from China. After scouring many local training centers and dojos, we managed to find a certified master and sent him on a week long paid contract to train our client in the martial arts. The client received 40 hours of training, a certificate of completion at the end and was left with an authentic experience that was incomparable to anything else.
As you may be able to tell, the word 'no' doesn't really exist in our vocabulary. While every request, large or small, challenging or 'unique', is a test of a concierge's skills, knowledge and competence; One Concierge is able to accomplish these tasks on a daily basis. At the end of the day, it is not just our job, but our passion.
