. At times you would hear about an accident in a factory because of a blast due to dysfunctional compressed gas cylinders or cryogenic cylinders. On other occasions, you would listen about car crashes, which are yet the most common causes of accidental deaths. Whatever, might be the reason, deaths are tragic. However, there have been strange causes of deaths registered around the world which may not sound so awful.

Hans Steininger had been known for owning the longest beard, which was nearly 1.4 meters long. In 1567, there was a fire in his town. Hans forgot to roll up his beard before he could run for his life. As he panicked, he ran, and paced on his own beard and stumbled because of it. He fell down and broke his neck while he did so.

Clemer Vallandigham, an Ohio politician, was well known for being a victorious lawyer in the times of the Civil war. In 1871, he was working on a jury display. In relation with the case, he had to take a pistol from a kneeling position and point on his own self. As he was practicing this act to display to the jury, he pulled out a loaded pistol and, as a blunder, shot his own self.


In 1999, Betty Stobbs, was carrying a bale of hay to feed her flock of sheep. As she took the pile at the back of her motorbike, the flock of sheep ran behind her. The flock of sheep resulted in being very hungry. Around 40 of the sheep hurried behind the hay and as they did so, they pushed Betty in a 100 feet deep quarry. As she fell, she did not lose her life at first. However, as her motorbike stumbled on her, she passed way.

A Thai lady called Yooket Paen encountered an accidental death in 1991 as she was walking on her farm. She had fell in cow dung, and to keep her balance, she held a wire. Unfortunately, the wire was bare, and she got shocked to death. At her memorial service, her sister acted the cause of her death, so she held the same naked wire and died.

A comedian called Dick Shawn died as he was acting live on stage. His words somehow were associated with how he died, and this is what makes his demise peculiar. As the part of the joke he said, "I will not lay down for the job!" Saying that he had to lie on his back. As he did so, the audience thought it was all a part of the act. When it took too long for him to get up, a theater worker rushed to him and monitored his pulse. As he did not find any, he began to give him mouth to mouth breathing. This was when the audience realized that he really died lying there.
