Ladies, in the old days, remained at home to care for their houses and children. Time marched on as did the male within the residence. Since ladies wwere without suitable working garmets, they scavenged through their husbands cupboards making do with the trousers they discovered there. Being employed in a manufacturing plant required a little more protective cover than only a skirt or dress could offer.

After the war ended in 1945, males returned home and some females happily went back to their job as housewife. Other females had picked up a flavor of what it was like to be independent. In addition to the autonomy they felt, they found they somewhat liked the convenience of being dressed in the much less traditional clothes their husbands had always enjoyed.

The day women started off wearing trousers isn't exactly known. Amazon females wore trousers, but the bulk of the worlds ladies stayed with the dressier attire. Amelia Earhart, for instance, dressed in pants as she figured out how to fly her aeroplane. That was previous to 1937 when she disappeared. It wasn't till the late 60's and early 70s that women began to don the trousers in the family.

The sixties and 70s gave rise to free love, womens liberties and peace. It had been in that time more women began putting on trousers. They succeeded as they simply felt more leisurely in trousers, not simply because they were going off to work and indeed not in their husbands pants. The 70's is easily the most famous period for women to move from skirts and gowns to trousers. Well-known television programs of the time made television shows mainly meant for females sporting trousers.

Higher separation and divorce rates made it possible for elevated numbers of females venturing out the threshold and straight into the full-time labor force. Many of those women returned to school to further their professions. Equal salary became a huge concern for women who were trying to raise their children. A lot of men weren't coughing up child support and there were a small number of rules to demand child support expenses. Women fought for their right to vote and also for similar salary. Putting on pants was a expression of those struggles.
