Planning session for marketing plan may sound redundant, but marketing plans are just theories until they are actually implemented, and a planning session is the time used to come up with these theories and to devise a strategy for when, where and how the plans will be implemented.

After an entrepreneur has decided that he wants to have his own business, the next step will be to decide on what industry or niche he wants to be involved in. After all of that is considered, a plan has to be designed to formulate the ideas make them into a reality and even then, the process has not yet begun.

The fact is that coming up an idea and starting a business is the easiest part of becoming an entrepreneur, this will be the part where many people shake their heads and decide that I do not what I am talking about, but with a little more reading, they will soon come to understand my statement clearly.


The fact is that starting a business is easy; the hardest part will be to maintain that business and to make it successful. This is where marketing comes in. The aim is to always get everyone within your target market to know about your company and your products and / or services, but first, you will have to establish who your target market is and the best ways to get to them.

The general term for target market, refers to those persons who will be the most likely to engage in the product or service that you offer, therefore you will want to ensure that whenever you develop a marketing plan, your prospective customers will be the first to become aware of your existence.

Let's say for example you decide to go in the market of flip flops and sundresses, your target market would be those persons who live in the tropical areas who wears these types of apparel on a regular basis and will be more inclined to buy. If you launch your marketing plan (no matter how good it is), in an arctic environment, you will not generate much sales, if any at all. And this is how target marketing work.

So, when you are conducting your next planning session for marketing plan, take all the initial factors into consideration and then devise your plan around them.
