Step 1: Let The World Know

Announce it so people know you have CDs for sale, but keep it cool and not overdone. You'll just need a couple of mentions from the stage, especially toward the end of your set. People will be reminded that if they like your sound, they can take it home with them.

Step 2: Mention specific songs on your CD.

Never overdo this, but if you play it well and the crowd seem to love it, don't forget to mention that the song is on a certain CD you have for sale in the back. When the fans seem to be loving the CD, this will encourage them to get at least a copy.

Step 3: Hang out at the merchandise table after your set.

Bands are supported by their fans, and to ask for their support, invite them over to your merchandise table after your set. Be friendly to the fans and don't forget to thank them for their support. Fans will be more likely to buy your CD if they feel a personal connection.

Step 4: Keep the price reasonable.

Of course you want to make money by selling CDs, but if you price them too high, it might hurt you back. Have your own CD printed with affordable rates without compromising quality so you can price the CD where your fans can still afford them and you can still make profit.
