Here's some more ideas to do out of the gym. These tips are great for strength training and to build muscle. I think because your out of the gym enviroment it can actually give you a burst of enthusiasm andmotivation.
So heres 3 more training ideas ;-
Strong Man Training -
If your after a challenging training session then strong man training could be it. It's based on the types of exercises competitors perform in the "worlds strongest man" competitions.
These exercises can be set up in your back garden or any open field. So you can ge hold of one of them giant tractor tires & do tire flips. You can also try log lifts, boulder lifts and carries, keg lifts and tosses, sled dragging. Anything that involves pulling, pushing, lifting or heaving any types of odd objects.
Don't feelintimidatedby this type of training as you can just handle whatever size objects are challenging for your individual strength. Strong man training will work your entire body and produce a very intensive workout.
Bag Boxing -
For this you can use a heavy bag, a speed bag or even one of those rebound bags for a great workout. For a more full body workout I recomend using the heavy bag, although the speed bag will really test your timing and rhythm and will give you a great upper body workout. This would be a great warmup to do before the strong man training or as an intense finish to your strength routine.
Stick Wrestling -
After using the 2 techniques above why not try and put them to the test. Stick wrestling is a killer full body workout and would be ideal is a little competition between your friends. See who the strongest is!
Just grab something like a broomstick and cut it down to about 30-36 inches. I'd recomend to tape it aswell to preventsplinters.
To start, stand facing your rival. Your both grab the same stick on either ends, then your other hand will be on the outsides of your opponent hand. Now you simply push, pull, jerk, and thrash the other person with the aim of getting them off the stick or making them fall. This would then result in you winning that round.
Try these out, you could make a competition of it between friends. Do a couple weeks of strong man training with your friends and then build it up to a stick wrestling competition and find out who the strongest is out of you!
