How to make a dorm room a special place

There are two main factors to be taken into account when decorating your dorm room: your budget and your roommate as both have a great influence on the process. College students do not usually roll in wealth, so you should make your decor cheap but personal and pleasant. As for your roommate, he/she has a right to take active part in decorating process unless you draw a line in the middle of the room separating it into two parts where each of you two will be the master.

Try to make the decor of your room functional. As you need space to store your things, buy some plastic crates to keep your things in them. Try to sort the things you will store so that you could be able to find everything easily.

Bring something that will remind you of home. It can be some photos or other things that are precious for you.

The walls are the space for your fantasy to let itself go. You may use posters, your own drawings, photos, etc. to decorate the room.

A good choice will be to use some hand-made things you have made yourself.

Also, you may use your awards if you have some, like cups, diplomas, etc.
