Being a shy person can be very uneasy. Shy people suffer from this feature of their character because they know that are very interesting but are shy to reveal that. Being shy at school is quite challenging but being shy in college is twice harder.

College can be a very good opportunity to overcome shyness and get rid of this life spoiler. The first person who can help to start this fight is your room mate. From the very first second you see your room mate you should imagine that you know him/her so much time that you even cannot be shy (you are not shy with your close relatives, maybe even close friends). This is quite easy to imagine, since you are likely to spend a lot of time with this person and will know him/her very well. Moreover, this is only one person not a group or the whole class, so your room mate is the best person for you to train your being sociable.

In college it is much easier to overcome shyness since you have plenty of time and plenty of students to train on. A lot of people do not really know you, so it is easier, for even if you say or do something awkward it will be forgotten soon, since college life is very rich in events.

Of course, the fight against ones shyness is very difficult. But college gives a lot of options. In your first year in college no one knows you, thus, no one is aware about your shyness. So your shyness can be regarded as mysteriousness, which can only contribute to your efforts to overcome your shyness.

The most important in this fight is taking captives, people captured by your intellect and charm, for, to be honest, you know what an interesting and charming person you are. It is high time to stop hiding that.
