The activity of student unions is closely associated with the freedom and democracy

, which American society offers to all the citizens and residents of the State. These unions are created for various aims, and the key aims are as follows:

Protecting political and social freedoms of students

Anti discrimination activity, directed against racial, social, gender, religious discrimination and segregation

Protecting the interests of students who belong to a particular social or ethnic group.

Independently on the aims and purposes of the union, these activities rely on the vitality of youth.

Pros and Cons of Union Activity

Considering the fact that most of the unions are aimed at achieving positive results, some of them may be associated with illegal activity, such as sexual discrimination, or occultism with oblations. Hence, joining any activity, always try to find out all the details of the union activity and mechanisms of achieving goals.

The other unions presuppose legal mechanisms of right and dignity protection; however, they may be ineffective. It does not mean that legal tools are ineffective, as a lot depends on the charisma and vitality of the union leader.

Some tutors treat union participants with prejudice

Finally, you should consider that participation in any union would not help you with passing your exams, thus, try not to sacrifice your study to activity in any union.
