Students' Unions and Their Reflection on Social Life
College youth is the most active age group among any others. High school students are generally concerned with their own problems. The Elderly is pretty much tired of everything and wants to be left alone. College students and university active members generally make the best of this world.' What do the TV-viewers hear mostly? Green Peace or another similar organization demonstrating against war in Iraq and Nuclear Power expansion. Most of the members and participants of these organizations are under thirty years of age. It brings the point of youth's radical steps to change some social patterns they are dissatisfied with. They are as follows:
High tuition cost and government's insufficient steps to minimize the financial cost of a bachelor's or master's program. Being a student any person is concerned with being able to finish the university he/she is studying at and receive a proper degree to find job and be able to support oneself financially.
Military conflicts. Generally taken into account the fact that young educated people prefer peace to war, they mainly protest against government's decision to send troops elsewhere and get involved into an armed conflict. Some of these radical demonstrations even lead to a short term of apprehension among very active students' groups.
Natural Resources Depletion and Rare Enemies Species' Extinction. College Youth opposes strongly vast government intrusion into the Planet's wildlife and its extermination of animals and plants. Some of the extreme students' actions are heavily criticized by the government's authorities and the newspaper agencies.
And finally students oppose pretty much certain college subjects' difficulties and the steadily growing gap between the rich and the poor. Due to some certain students' origin it appears impossible to pay high prices for education lacking scholarship and finance.
