global university rankings. With over 16000 students, Trinity offers a

comprehensive range of programmes ranging from Nano technology to

b) University College, Dublin www.ucd.ie

UCD is Irelands largest university with a student population of over

23000 students. It is well known for its programmes in Business, Law, Life

Sciences, Engineering, Mathematical & Physical Sciences and features in the

top 200 universities of the world.

c) University College, Cork www.ucc.ie

Situated in Irelands second largest city, UCC is Irelands leading research

based university and houses major research centres of international repute

including Boole Centre for Research in Informatics, Advanced Manufacturing

Technology, Biosciences Institute, Tyndall National Institute for ICT Research

etc. The Father of Computer Science, George Boole was a professor of

Mathematics at UCC.

d) University of Limerick www.ul.ie

Located in Irelands National Technology Park, UL is an excellent university

with a fabulous campus. Its well known for its Engineering and IT based

programmes and has a very attractive 50% scholarship scheme running for

its international students. It also houses LERO the Research centre for

Software Engineering.

e) Dublin City University www.dcu.ie

DCU is Irelands youngest university and offers a variety of programmes

both at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of Business,

Computing, Science & Electronics, Communications & Languages etc. It

was the first university in Ireland to introduce INTRA or the work placement

programmes and is also home to Irelands largest performing arts centre,

the Helix.

f) National University of Ireland- Galway www.nuigalway.ie

The university is located at Galway, a vibrant student friendly city situated

on the west coast of Ireland. NUIG offers very many interesting programmes

especially in the areas of Biomedical Engineering, Environmental & Marine

Science, Business & Law, IT etc.

g) National University of Ireland Maynooth

NUI Maynooth is located in a university town, 25 kms away from Dublin

and is in close proximity to many multinational high tech organizations.

The university offers many courses in the areas of Science & Engineering,

Social Sciences etc and is actively involved in dynamic research and houses

9 research centres.
