. Can You Stay?
How many times have I heard; "I wasn't prepared for a test." How many times have you said: "If I can pass my test to graduate; I can do this." How many times have your results stopped you from attending your college of choice? How many timesin life were you not ready? How many times have you waited until the last minute? How many times did you not prioritize?
Well guess what? You need to prioritize. You need to give your college entrance exam the respect it deserves. This is not a game. It is your future. "Procrastination steals opportunity." My other favorite is "Time waits for no one." You need to make it happen.
An average score could keep you from getting accepted. A below average score could definitely get you rejected. Your GPA alone will not get you to the top of the list when your scores indicate you are a "NO WAY" candidate.
The ball is in your court. It's how you play it. You know you have an exam coming up. Think strategy. Concentrate on how you are going to achieve a high score. Do a self assessment. Weigh your options of what you need to do to make a great score. Motivate yourself to strive for better than minimum scores. Don't just make it. Strive pass a borderline score.
Know your test. Integrate your strategies and tips into your daily schedule. Wake up. Do the usual; just schedule some for test preparation. Motivate yourself. Yes, you have to relax your mind. Always keep your eye on the prize; graduating from college and getting a great career. You have to start somewhere; preparation is the key.
Improve your reading skills. Yes, I know you can read online; game instructions, subtitles, recipes, and MapQuest. You can read a lot of little things; but, I want you to become an avid reader. Learn to love to read. Reading can increase your comprehension;enhance your vocabulary, and improve your grammar. Remember readingwill definitely help you to have a better grasp on reasoningexercises and the test.
Take as many practice test as possible. Hone your skills on practice areas. Get family members and friends to explain the difficult ones to you. Get someone to help if you need to go that route.
Use yourSchool Counselor, teacher, advisor, or someone who may be able to mentor and motivate you.Talking to someone reduces your anxieties and your fears. We need reassurance at times.
Get plenty of rest the night before the test. Avoid last minute cramming. Reduce your last minute stress by relaxing throughout the week. Relax enough to unwind. Don't do the partying. Discipline yourself with the gaming. I would suggest no gaming 72 hours prior to testing. I would say 5 days; but the stress level may need the WII, Xbox, or Play station to reduce the tension.
Have some breakfast. Drastically reduce the caffeine and energy drinks. Try to avoid or keep at a minimum. You don't need the shakes or increased anxiety during the exam. Drink lots of water.
Okay; do it. Score high!
