Studying The Other Side

The Prior session we saw how God saved us from the power of darkness and transferred

us into the kingdom of Light the moment we accepted Jesus as our saviour. Take note, all of heaven celebrated when you came into this kingdom. What awesome news. God has now given us fresh power to live life to the full and to enjoy it as He designed us to live.

In this lesson we want to show something of the world we have been transferred out of. This will make you understand how incredibly destructive this part is in the world and how destructive its effects were on our lives in the past. Then we can understand how different life is in the kingdom of Light, which we will be showing here. What a radical difference. From bondage to freedom, from darkness to light.

We also want to help you to comprehend the king of the kingdom of darkness so that we detect something about the enemy of our lives. Remember that as newborn children of God, He has given us new authority over our enemy. The good news is that we are no longer subject to the enemy's works on us. We are now dwelling in a different world. This tells us what occurred to us when we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. God rescued us. Just like when we transfer money from one bank account to another, which is a legal transaction, God has taken us out of the kingdom of Darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of Light, God's kingdom. There are three things to know from this. When we are moved into God's kingdom, our spiritual eyes are opened. Now we can begin to see spiritual truth, matters we never saw before, because we are no longer in the dark. We are now in the kingdom of light. We are not in the power of the enemy. Jesus has set us free to follow God and serve Him from a willing heart. When we come to understand how Satan operates, we can resist him much more efficiently.

Satan has many evil minions under his command. In the Bible they are known to have organized command of various sources and ranks. They are called fallen angels, authorities, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, wicked spirits, and demons. The enemy's world and rule is like a wordly dictator who rules a nation and enforces his will via an army consisting of generals, majors, colonels, lieutenants, sergeants, corporals and privates.

The enemy and his hosts are created beings who are militant; they hate mankind created in God's image, and are absolutely against all that God is and what He represents. Though we are not informed specifically where Satan's subjects came from, we are aware they were made in God's original order to do God's will, as do the angels who continue in obedience to Him. We will talk about the place of good angels in a later article. What we do know from the Bible is that when Lucifer (the enemy) rebelled against God, some angels rebelled with him, and were thrown out of heaven to be the evil agents of Satan in the world of darkness. We learned from the Bible that many of the angels rebelled with Satan. That being so, we have good news. God and His hosts are greater in number and power. We, as Jesus' followers, are on the victorious side.
