Self defense products have been around in one shape or another for thousands of years

Stun guns use high-voltage and low amperage to disable an attacker temporarily for up to 10 minutes. The electrical charge in the gun causes the attacker's muscles to over work in a rapid manner. This exertion depletes the blood sugars of the assailant making him unable to produce energy for his muscles so he can't do anything. Stun guns also interrupt the nerves that control muscle movement, causing him to lose balance.
