The stun Guns can be best described as being not only non-lethal electronic devices

that can be utilized to deliver high voltage electric charges that are temporarily used for disabling an attacker. The stun Guns employ the usage of one or at times two 9-volt batteries that have a voltage that ranges from 85,000 to as high as 625,000 volts.

The stun guns can be held in a firm grip in the hand and can be pressed against the muscular area of the person who is attacking. This area can be either the thighs, shoulders or the buttocks of the attacker. It works in such a way that the high voltage electric charges come into interaction with the electrical impulses of the body which in turn leads to the over-exertion of the muscles of the attacker. This assists in converting the attacker's blood sugar into lactic acid and this in turn leads to the neurological impulses being interrupted.

Most of the times the person who is using the respective device prolongs the contact for a quarter of a second it results in not only intense pain but also in the contraction of the muscles of the attacker. And in case if the contact with the muscles of the attacker is prolonged for two or three seconds, then in that case the assailant becomes not only stunned but also quite disoriented which results in less control over balance and lesser muscle control. He therefore immediately falls to the ground and can remain in the mentioned state for a period between 10 to 15 minutes.

As far as the physical appearance is concerned this electrical device comes with two prongs on a single end. The prongs are used for the conduction of an electrical charge post the pressing/pushing of the trigger or the button. The respective electrical charge results in the disruption in the attackers body's nervous system which in turn results in lesser control over the muscle movement. The energy that is transmitted from the gun results in causing the muscles to work extremely rapidly which depletes all kinds of blood sugars which is adequate for energy.

A half second application to the attacker can be the cause of some minor pain whereas a one or a two second dose can help in causing muscle spasms and also confusion. The effects are different for different times, like a 3 to 5 second application is probably going to result in the loss of balance and muscle control and hence lead to confusion and disorientation. The assailants have been known to curl up in the fetal position following a 5 second application which leaves them inadequate to do simply anything at all. It can be safely termed that the stun guns are on average almost 86% effective. They do not result in any lasting damage to the attacker.
