Stylish Gadgets
Electronic gadgets are not only getting smarter
, they are also temptingly stylish. Let's take a look at four stylish gadgets sure to catch your attention.
Apple iPad 3:
With almost 75% of the world's tablet market share, it's no wonder that the release of a new iPad was a much-anticipated event. Despite all the hype, the iPad 3 looks remarkably similar to the iPad 2.
That is, until you pick it up and switch it on. The stunning Retina Display alone makes the iPad 3 live up to the hype and, coupled with power aplenty, it is a worthy successor to the iPad 2.
Samsung Galaxy Note:
The Galaxy Note fills the gap between laptops and smartphones and it is a great compromise between the two. The 5.3 inch display screen, with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, and super AMOLED technology, is a pure delight when gaming or watching a movie. The 2,500 mAh battery is huge for a smartphone. The 8 megapixel camera is easy to operate and produces high-quality images.
HTC Titan:
The HTC Titan is built like a tank, and almost as big. No, seriously, build quality is superb, helped by the rigid aluminium case and the gorilla glass front. But the overall dimensions of 5.2 inches x 2.8 inches make it larger than most competitive smartphones.
The extra size is necessary to accommodate the impressive 4.7 inch display screen, which fits well with the Windows Phone operating system. However the operating system limitations means the screen resolution is a meagre 198 pixels per inch.
A 1,600 mAh battery gives almost two days low use between charges, but the 12.6 GB of storage is a limitation on the musical usefulness.
Nikon D4:
One of the most impressive digital cameras is the Nikon D4, with a 16.2 megapixel full frame CMOS sensor. The carbon fibre shutter can fire at an amazing 1/8000th of a second and can take still pictures at 10 frames per second even while using auto focus.
With many photographers looking for enhanced video capabilities the D4 doesn't disappoint. It can take 1080p videos at up to 30 frames per second and can export uncompressed video via an HDMI port.
Acer Iconia Tab A700:
The Android operating system for mobile devices has had a series of code names based on popular desserts. After working through Cupcake, Donut and so on, the latest version, released last year, is called Ice Cream Sandwich and is used on the Acer Iconia A700 tablet.
Equipped with a 9,600 mAh battery driving a 1.3 GHz quad-core Tegra processor, the Iconia has power to spare. The 1925 x 1200 pixels give the screen a brightness and clarity that make using it a joy and the built-in 5 megapixel camera allows you to Skype on the move.
