If you are going to be competing for space, you may not get enough face value for your poster to make it worth advertising in that spot. Make sure that the area you do choose to advertise in have a clear view that will be easily noticed.

Time of year/Demographics: Find your target audience. Find where they are and when they are there. This will determine where and when you want to advertise.

If you plan to do poster marketing long term, it may be best just to learn by doing. Get out there and post everywhere and see how effective it is in different areas. You may find that outdoor posters do better in warmer weather when more people are out. Posters placed around shopping areas will get more viewers around holidays and big shopping seasons.

Internet Banners: This is one of the newest forms of poster advertising that is becoming more and more popular. This method can be easier to reach a specific audience, especially if you have the budget to do some research beforehand. If you can determine what websites your target audience uses most, this will help you reach the most potential customers for your money. This option of advertising can also be very economical and require less upkeep. It is a fact that seventy percent of Internet shoppers are doing research before making a major purchase.
