Suitable Breast Augmentation Surgery Solutions For Breast Tumor Patients

Women who have survived breast cancer have been through a major ordeal

. The treatments are taxing and the stress levels are often through the roof. Struggling through this time can be the hardest thing a woman ever faces. It is quite common to have to remove one or both of a woman's breasts to ensure the cancer is removed.

Often, women who have had that surgery feel a great sense of loss and have reported they no longer feel like a woman. Many women will turn to breast augmentation to give them back something of what they lost during that most difficult time in their lives.

There are, of course, several different options when it comes to breast augmentation. Some women don't want the surgery at all and will turn to silicone inserts in their bra. Many women still prefer to have the surgery done in order to regain that sense of self that is lost during that difficult time.

A favorite procedure among most survivors of cancer and their doctors is the procedure called Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator, or DIEP. This surgery feels more natural because tissues from the patient's own body are used in the reconstructing of her breasts.

Many breast cancer survivors are excited to hear that the procedure can be done right after the masectomy, thus limiting the number of surgeries they must undergo. This procedure is very different from the typical ones because the fatty tissue is taken straight from the patient's body and used in the breast, instead of having to resort to any type of implant. This is one time a woman will be thankful for having some extra fatty tissue in her body, as women who don't have enough cannot have this procedure done.

The fatty tissue is taken from the abdomen or any other area with bountiful fat cells and then placed in the breast area using microsurgery. Many health care professionals are saying this procedure is much easier and quicker to recover from than most others. However, some cancer survivors will still turn to more traditional forms of breast augmentation for their own reasons, or because they did not have enough fat on them to qualify for this procedure.
