Fourth of July Celebration Fireworks by the Sea

Get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July seaside! The annual Fourth of July Fireworks by the Sea at nearby Channel Islands Harbor makes for a special way to celebrate our nations birthday! Day-time festivities include a childrens parade in the morning, followed by continuous entertainment & activities throughout the day including live music, face painting, petting zoo, inflatable fun zone and rock climbing wall. A special Farmers Market and Old Fashioned BBQ also takes place at 11 a.m. In the evening, the spectacular fireworks show takes place over the water. Seating is available along the perimeter of the harbor. You can also jump on board with Island Packers to view the fireworks show on either on a 64 catamaran or the historic Bill of Rights tall ship.

Summertime Concerts

A great way to kick back and enjoy summer is to attend one of the weekly concerts taking place at both the Channel Islands Harbor and Heritage Square in Downtown Oxnard. Celebrating over 19 years, the Heritage Square Summer Concerts kicked off in June and continues through August 24. The concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday night. The concerts range from Reggae to Big Band to Jazz & Blues and more. The Concerts by the Sea in Channel Islands Harbor run throughout the months of July & August on Saturdays from 4 to 6 p.m. The free concerts include a variety of music including classic rock, blues, jazz, Cajun and more!

Other Harbor Happenings!

Besides the annual 4th of July holiday and summer concerts, Channel Islands Harbor is filled with activity this summer. The 11th Annual Fine Arts & Crafts Show takes place July 14-15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show offers a wide variety of oil paintings, watercolors, photography, sculpture, pottery and much more. Interested in cars? The Harbor also hosts the Central Coast British Car Club Show on Sunday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show features approximately 150 British cars from the 1930s and up. Other highlights include a swap meet, food booths and entertainment.

Get Ready to Salsa!

Things will be definitely heating up in Oxnard during the 19th Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival taking place at Plaza Park, Downtown Oxnard, July 28-29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event features spicy food & fiery entertainment with top Jazz & Latin bands. Event highlights also include a large Salsa Tasting Tent featuring over 50 different salsas, an eclectic vendor marketplace, international foods, Kids Korner attractions, a salsa recipe contest and more. Event admission and parking are free!
