With a wide gamut of favorites ranging from jazz to rock to patriotic

, the city and county of Denver offers fun musical entertainment on summer holidays. Free summer musical entertainment in Denver starts out with the Five Points Jazz Festival. This yearly music event in the historic neighborhood of Five Points has been a core of African-American community. This music festival highlights some of Denvers premier jazz artists and bands, who celebrate this heritage of music while performing different jazz styles.

For the rock genre, Memorial Days musical highlight is the Denver Day of Rock. Suburbian Denver will be rocking it out all day with twenty bands screech their guitars and drums out on four stages at this summer rock music extravaganza. Listen to some of Denvers favorite bands and discover some new ones, such as Fishbone, Romantics, and The Fixx. The Denver Day of Rock is presented by the Concerts for Kids and aims to raise awareness of local children and aid child-assistance groups.

On Sunday nights of June to August, City Park Bandstand and Pavilion hosts al fresco jazz club. The City Park Jazz will perform the Latin sounds of Manuel Lopez Trio to the soulful melodies of the blues and jazz siren Hazel Miller to the big band sound of Tuxedo Junction.

On Thursday evenings of July, the coolest place to be at to experience great summer concert Denver offers is at Confluence Park. Cherry Creek ad South Platte River jams together, along with the sounds of the blues, jazz and zydeco bands.

Summer concerts in Denver suburbs will be lively on Fridays, with free lunch time concerts in Skyline Park, just a stone away from the 16th Street Mall on Arapahoe Street. Stretch out the blankets on the lawn and take-out foodstuff for an Audi Picnic featuring the tunes of Bonnie and the Clydes, Coles Whalen, the Epilogues, and more.

The Colorado Symphony Orchestra will also have a series of free summer concerts in Denver. A highlight of the event is the Independence Eve at the Civic Center, when the orchestra will play some of Americas all-time favorite patriotic and national songs, with the accompaniment of a breath-taking fireworks display to commemorate the historic event.
