Cars and Dads Go Together!

Looking for ideas to honor dad this Fathers Day? What better way than to take him to a car show! The 6th Annual Fathers Day Car Show takes place at adjacent Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features an eclectic mix of custom cars, hot rods and classics. In addition to classic cars, guests can enjoy vendor displays, food booths, musical entertainment and a 50/50 prize raffle.

Celebrate the Bounty of Ventura County!

Ventura County is known for its beautiful beaches and is also fast becoming known as a wine region as well! The 5th Annual Ventura County Wine Trail Celebration is taking place June 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in historic Oxnards Heritage Square. You can enjoy amazing food and the finest wines of Ventura County.

A Great Resource When Visiting

Looking for things to do in the area or maybe side excursions to major attractions in southern California? If you havent visited the California Welcome Center in Oxnard, you might stop by before making your plans. The Center is one of 20 California Welcome Centers that are scattered throughout California. You will find free maps, brochures, California souvenirs and gifts, plus staff to answer any questions. The Center also sales tickets to tours and regional attractions such as Disneyland, Magic

Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and so much more. The California Welcome Center is located directly off the freeway at 1000 Town Center Drive, Suite 135.

Celebrate World Oceans Day with a Virtual Dive at the Channel Islands!

Non-divers can explore the ocean floor without even getting wet! In celebration of World Oceans Day, Channel Islands National Park is offering a special Live Dive Program running June 6-9 direct from Anacapa Island, located just 14 miles offshore. Visitors can interact with diving rangers to learn about conservation efforts and have a rare opportunity to interact with park scuba divers in real time from this remote island. All Live Dive programs can also be seen at the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center in Ventura Harbor.

Celebrate Our Nations Birthday!

If you are staying at The Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort over the 4th of July, celebrate the holiday with a fun-filled day and evening in Channel Islands Harbor. The festivities include a Childrens Parade in the morning, followed by continuous entertainment & activities throughout the day including live music, face painting, petting zoo, inflatable fun zone and rock climbing wall. The weekly Farmers Market will also be taking place providing an opportunity to purchase fresh vegetables & fruits in addition to baked goods. In the evening, the spectacular fireworks show takes place over the water. Seating is available along the perimeter of the harbor. You can also jump on board with Island Packers to view the fireworks show on either on a 64 catamaran or the historic Bill of Rights tall ship.
