Living in the UK can be great, however if you like to see the sun then avoid this
country! When a rare glimpse of the sun appears in the sky the whole country goes crazy. Vests and shorts come out, in some parts of the world they would probably think it was quite chilly. It is like a different world when the hot rays beam down, everyone is much happier and the possibilities of a day out on a weekend get ever so more exciting.
Of course if you want to beat the mad rush of having to be stuck in crowds in popular seaside resorts you could throw your own barbeque party. Choose from either a proper BBQ or even just buy some disposable which will minimize on your cleaning duties once your get together has ended. You will also be able to maximise the amount of time spent out in the sun by not having to sit in a hot car for many hours to get to the coast. Many people like to plan out their weekends but if the sun appears then a bit of spontaneity needs to happen for these type of events to work, and what better chance do you have to make random plans and enjoy what nature offers?
If you have an overgrown garden for a jungle then getting the lawn mower out before asking guests round is essential. Also getting enough chairs for guests to sit on is necessary or improvise and put towels and blankets on the grass. With sport being a big part of the country at the moment you could even organise some fun games! After having a nice BBQ, chilling on the garden decking, you could venture to a nearby park and have a big game of rounders. If you do not want to leave your house fill up some water balloons and have a more interesting game of catch.
You never know how long the sun will actually last in this country so making the most of every moment that a ray beams down is important. It is amazing after longing all year round to get these few days, however a few more out of the year would be appreciated. The south of the country usually gets the nicer weather as it is closer to the equator so if you happen to decide to visit somewhere else and not sit in your garden check the weather forecast and possibly head south!
