, is home to the legendary Algona POW camp. This World War II camp housed German and Italian prisoners from 1944 to 1946. The unique museum features artifacts and information relating to the American military personnel and German prisoners brought together by the war.

Room smelled moldy and musty so bad we could barely breathe. Turned heat on and smoke came out of the unit and set off the smoke detector. Lamp didn't work, another shade cracked and broken. Fan in the bathroom was nonfunctional. Floor creaked so bad we likely kept others awake below us on the first floor. Took our suitcases to the car the next morning and went back up to our room (maybe 2-3 minutes later) to get our food out of the fridge and the cleaning person had pilfered through it and then threw it in the garbage. It was an awful experience.
