Punta de Mita is Bahia de Banderas' northern tip, and is home not only to some of the nicest beaches in Puerto Vallarta but has the best waves and conditions nearby. From the Malibu-like conditions at El Anclote, to the fun waves at La Lancha or the excellent right at Burros, you are sure to find quality waves that will quench your need to surf in Puerto Vallarta- as long as you have a car.

On the other hand, if you're of the sort who likes it easy and don't mind the crowds head to Sayulita. This small town has become the surf town in this part of Mexico, hosting international events and being the most typical location where to lurn how to surf. There's plenty of surf shops, board rental places and usually small but fun waves to enjoy.
