Diabetes Type 1 is formerly known to be juvenile diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes
. With this type of diabetes, the pancreas is not producing insulin. The insulin is the hormone that is produced by the pancreas which is involved for regulating the body to convert the sugar into energy. People with this type of diabetes will need to consume daily insulin injection and they need to carefully check their blood sugar levels. Diabetes Type 1 is considered as an autoimmune disorders which are involving:
1. Beta cell from the pancreas which is the one responsible for producing insulin is being destroyed. Because of that, insulin deficiency is being absolute.
2. With the absence of insulin that is moving the glucose in the cells, the blood glucose levels are becoming high and the condition is known to be hyperglycemia.
3. Patients with this type of diabetes will need to take insulin daily for their survival
Type 1 diabetes is not as common as diabetes type 2. This type of diabetes may occur or happen at every age though it usually develop 1st in adolescence and in children. Type 1 diabetes has the percentage of 5-10 from all of diabetes cases.
The following Symptoms of type 1 diabetes are:
Excessive thirst
Extreme fatigue
Frequent urination
Extreme hunger
Blurred vision and
Irritable
Hypoglycemia or the lower than normal blood sugar - this condition will happen if the blood sugar level is falling below normal. The patients that have Diabetes Type 1 have to be attentive of these following symptoms: trembling; extreme hunger; sweating, confusion and the rapid heartbeat. Patients that are higher in risk for suffering hypoglycemia must always carry something that has sugar products to be ready for the attack to occur. In some cases, hypoglycemia may lead to comatose and may end up to death.
